Yesterday I wrote in my icon post but I haven't wrote it here, my laptop broke. I guess it's something to do with the defunct backlight of the LCD which makes it very very dark even when the computer is on. Which is... frustrating. I brought it to the service center and they said that it's the LCD so they have to change the whole screen and it will cost me $130. I don't want to pay for this!

The laptop itself is not that old, almost 2 years but I read that it's a common problem on thin laptops/ultrabooks monitor. I guess that's the price we pay for that thinness!

I'm frustrated. I'm PC-less, I'm tired and feeling lethargic all the time, I don't know what I'd do without a PC in my room. I get to use work computer in daytime but right after work my choices are down to my phone or the tv (oh the horror).

This makes me really want a new computer, something great with a big screen. But it's not my priority at the moment. I'll think of it.

I really want to blog more, but between work, slow internet and broken camera I just couldn't. I miss blogging (regularly) (T_____T). Anyways, updates on stuff!

Korean Class Level 2!
Classes for Level 2 has started \o/ The sonsengnim is young, very pretty, funny and talks really fast. She constantly talks in Korean and assumes that every one of us is an avid Korea loving fan who understands everything she's saying. I'm the oldest of everyone in the class. And as a non-Korea loving fan that I am, I'm out of the loop most of the times. But I'm a good student and I do love to learn languages. Oh and, I sprained my ankle trying to catch a bus to the class yesterday (-____-) I hope the pain goes away soon.

JAPAN!
I'm going back to Japan!! For real and for fun this time, with my sister and brother next month :D Me and my sister are very excited for this, we're preparing itinerary and completing documents for our visa application. 一年半ぶりの東京へ行くぜ!

Camera Problems
So ... after a while owning this prosumer type camera, I'm not sure if this camera fits me best. I love it, I use it all the time. However, the size is not really compact and using an additional case makes it even more bulky so I usually just slam it inside my bag. I'm the type who likes my camera with me all the time, so imagine that it's inside my bag almost everyday, with my other stuff like books, umbrella, pencil case etc. One day ... it broke. The buttons wouldn't work so I took it to the service center. The person there said there's no serious problem, it was just dirty and suffered from daily careless treatment. Maybe I need something smaller and more compact.

Remember how I accidentally broke my very old laptop and bought a new one in a rush? Well I sold that one and got myself this sleek baby!

blah blah blah )

I LOVE IT. I just love it. My dad said not to buy a Samsung laptop because Samsung is not known for their laptops. Clearly my dad lives in the past so I ignored his advice and went with my guts. My guts said it is time for a pink laptop in my life. It is not that expensive, about $680, so I don't expect too much from this laptop, but it is definitely MUCH BETTER than my old bulky ASUS. And it is so much better looking, too.

I got a lot of bonuses from buying this (I'm such a marketing strategy victim, I know but still!). I got a licensed Microsoft Office pre-installed, a laptop pouch (wanted the pink one but they ran out so I got the black one), a mouse (which I chose to upgrade to a wireless one with extra $10), and a cashback of $5. Look at that tiny matching cute pink mouse. I just can not handle this cuteness!

one more pic and a note on my toshiba laptop )

Finally! I ordered this in May, it took forever! Never join a pre-order group again. It is super cute! It is shimmery in real life, maybe you can't really see it in this pic. But it is super super cute. So cute I don't want to use it, I don't want it to get scratched!

Here's my case collection! Maybe I have too much, but phone trends go so fast I'm sure Note II cases will soon be gone from store racks as Note 3 is released later this year.

Besides, these aren't that expensive. The most expensive one is the original Samsung one that cost me $35. That last one (colorful polkadot) I bought from Aliexpress for $3 including shipping fee from China, how cheap is that? With China Post it took 3 weeks to arrive but hey, I'll take a $3 case anytime.

here
After dreading it for a while, I decided to post my [livejournal.com profile] inspired20in20 batch as it was, I didn't do any major changes since the last time I edit them. I'm not super satisfied and proud of them but hey, I finished the challenge and I managed to stick with the theme (and the commitment to finish it on time). Now I shall work on other projects.

Yesterday before I left the house my mom asked me to buy her a book, so while I was in the mall I visited a bookstore and .... I found this magazine.

It's EXO! I can't not buy this!?!? It has EXO-K on the front cover and EXO-M on the back (Luhan <3). I know it's a really cheap looking magazine with pics probably stolen from the internet but ... it's EXO, lol. Not for me though, I don't need magazines. I gave it to Mrs. Noor this morning for her daughter who loves Baekhyun so much. I hope she likes it :3

On a not really happy note )

My co-worker Mrs. N just got back from her training in Tokyo, the occasion I used as an opportunity to shop online from Japan, hohoho. I ordered a converter adapter, a tele converter lens, Olympus original automatic lens cap and even an LCD guard film for my XZ-1, yay! Now, I have one gear to be a sasaeng fan, lololol.

I bought Olympus XZ-1 right before my business trip to Tokyo at the end of last year. After months using it, I AM IN LOVE. I love my camera. Especially when the photos I captured at Adam's concert turned out awesome 8D I know I'm not going into the world of DSLR, so I think prosumer class is fine with me. I would love to have good gears and accessories for this cam and unfortunately, most are only available in US or Japan.

Just like reviews said, the converter added so much weight to a somewhat compact camera (though it is not as compact as others in its class). But of course, we can get closer pictures for objects in distance (not that far, I don't understand how to measure the range, really).

For casual use without the gigantic lens, now there's no hassle in taking off and putting on the lens manually, and the LCD is also firmly protected, which is neat.

Anyway so excited!! Definitely going to test this out at live concerts :)
Can't wait! Thank you Mrs. N :D

Last weekend I did my nails and it's black with glitter tips. These nail polishes aren't new, I bought it years ago when I was obsessed with Tommy. I haven't used them again for a while, and I have to say I'm quite happy with the result on my left hand fingers! The ones on my right hand are so messy hahah, I need to practice applying nail polish using my left hand :p

Anyway, I am all alone all this week at the office as my boss and my colleagues are on their business trips to Hong Kong and Tokyo. Monday was a disaster because the internet went down all day long. I used my phone to browse and open tumblr and such, but I still prefer my traditional internet with a computer or a laptop.

After what feels like a thousand years, I finally own a smartphone, OMG. I've been wanting to switch to one but I hesitated because I wanted a new computer more than a phone ... I felt like I could live without a phone as long as I have my computer and an internet connection. But anyway, my I'm still not sure with what computer I want so I decided to get a phone first. And it is ... *drumrolls* A SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE 2.

It is awesome 8D, needless to say, but I really need to get myself used to it since I've been with a much simpler, stupid non-smart phone for years. When you look at it especially in stores, side by side with other phones, it seems gigantic but I've been using it for a couple of days now and it doesn't feel weird at all.
