Gosh this is my first entry in forever. My new job is eating me up. Hi!
Anyway I was soooo behind on everything as usual and I got weirdly excited when Adam tweeted this :

I was like hell YEAH! I love K-Pop fashion, too! And I love it when my favorite fandoms collide! And then I realized that I was excited about the wrong thing. Adam tweeting about KPop fashion is just a part of the very rare fandom collision in which ADAM and TOMMY were there, at the same venue as SUJU, SHINEE, EXO and were on the same freaking stage they performed on at MAMA 2012 in Hong Kong. akfdakljflskjf;ls
Okay, maybe it was too early to get too excited over this because I had to see the show first! So I spent long hours downloading a file that turned out to be just a video of the red carpet (-____-). I spent another two days to download the complete show (my internet isn't that pathetic, I just limit my bandwidth so that my family could still use it while I'm downloading #slowinternet #firstworldproblems).
I forgot about it for a couple of days, tired from work and was distracted by SHINee and EXO MVs and finally, I watched the show last night. Not the whole show though, I'm so new to KPop I don't know anyone who is not SM or PSY, so I skipped a lot of parts.
Now comments!
EXO
God these kids are so cute I can't even. And many of them are so tall, too! I love love looove what they wore on stage, EXO-M in black jackets and EXO-K in red, their performance was so cool. Had I known them better before I went to SM Town Jakarta, I would've enjoyed their performance more back then :/ I'm currently addicted to MAMA (the song, not the show).
Also : CHANYEOL. This kid. So cute. I lost my ability to form sentences. And his jeans were cool. And I mean, look at this gifset made by kris-wu on tumblr:
ajkhfjlakfjdhskafjh I love all and every ship
SHINee
SHINee won the best dance award(?) for Sherlock and unfortunately for me, I'm not a fan of that single, so ... meh. THEY ARE CUTE THOUGH. And I don't understand why they (they as in, SM) would let EXO sing Lucifer and dance to it too. I mean, it's SHINee's trademark song! It's LUCIFER! Anyway, Key was so cute on his seat waving to the camera and doing gangnam style dance a couple of times.
Super Junior
My obsession towards SHINee and EXO has reduced the level of excitement when SuJu appears. I'm not a fan of Sexy Free and Single or SPY, so I wasn't really enjoying their performances :( Like ... WHY WOULD YOU SING SPY LIVE? The notes are so low it's so hard to sing and painful to watch. And ... they wore all black which was ... boring. Also, why did Ryeowook got that role? I mean at the beginning of the performance with a girl, kissing? I was shocked. I really was hoping that it was someone more expected like ... IDK Donghae?
It nice to see how great they are doing without the leader though :) It seems like Eunhyuk wanted every member to have the chance to thank the fans and talk after getting the awards, so they took a lot of time on stage saying their thank yous (^^;)
I don't understand Korean, but looking at how SuJu talks on stage, it's really clear how they are experienced professional entertainers, many of them are doing MCs or Radio DJs for a long time and are used to talk in public and are very articulate. Different with younger groups like EXO who doesn't seem to know well what to say on stage after receiving an award, saying their thank yous with a lot of ums and ehs.
and as for
Adam (and Tommy)
Hmm. I don't really know what to say about their performances, I was excited to see them but as I was watching MAMA from the first, they seem to be out of place in the middle of it. I cringed. I couldn't even finish watching. Who has the idea to invite Adam to this show and why? Because .... everything is just out of place.

The make-up, the smoky eyes, the gay dancers, the super big neon yellow afros ... what the hell? Granted, this kind of in your face performance is usual for an Adam Lambert but ... you're in a whole different continent and show right now and (broken record, I know) you're just so out of place. Asian/Korean people loves effortless make-up. They mostly focus on simple eyeliner and flawless skin, not a ton of dark eyeshadow around your eyes. Stubble, is also one of the things Asians aren't fans of. In your face gay performance, is not something Asians are used to. Granted, there are so many gay subtext in KPop fandom however you want to take it, but it is so different with an openly gay artist performing with openly gay dancers with seducing moves at an Asian Awards show. Also, I don't think there are many fans of Adam at MAMA? There are no cheers or photos surfacing after compared to those KPop idols.
So the conclusion of my thoughts on Adam's performance is ... WHY WAS HE EVEN THERE.
Anyway overall, it was an interesting show. It was my first time watching MAMA in full, not just the cuts that I found on YouTube. I definitely will re-watch my favorite performances and cute moments.
Oh and as for RL newsflash :
I'm going back to Japan tomorrow! WOOHOO! For work though (boo). Nevertheless, I'm excited to go despite the cold weather. Will try to arrange meet-ups with some friends there! :D
