honest opinion on the 100 things blogging challenge

I was excited when I saw it, and I imagine the many things I would love to tell the world on my blog.

And then I tried to commit to it seriously. Now I have 4 blog entries and already I'm feeling tired and that these blog entries are too much work. We have to make 100 of them! Thinking about it right now, the way I'm doing it is insanely ambitious.

I remember I did the 365days icon challenge, it was 1 icon per day, sometimes more because the mod didn't post a theme for a while, then post multiple themes in one day. And that, ladies and gentlemen, took me 7 months to finish. One icon is a piece of cake, I mean you got a prompt/theme, sometimes they're quite literal, you look for a pic to match the prompt, and work on the icon. Depends on how long it'll take you to make an icon, but I definitely didn't spend a lot for this batch of mine (it took me longer for other batches though).

While this blogging thing! First up we need a topic that matches our general theme, second we need to know what we're going to say about the topic since it's supposed to be a blog post (duh). And as the non English-speaking person that I am, blogging in English, especialy when I'm not that inspired, is not an easy thing. So I went online and look for pics that could support my ideas so it's not just words. Which results in, I have to look for pics, I need to edit the size and color sometimes, I have to upload them in my photobucket, and link it from my blog! Not to mention when I did HTML fails and have to go back and forth trying to fix it. Also I have to make a cover picture for each entry and this took me a while to make! ... I actually enjoy each step individually, but with the pressure that I have to do this 100 times, everything seems so troublesome. And from how I'm doing it, I don't think I'm going to be able to finish in YEARS.

Looking at other people's entries there are lots of interesting topics like 100 photos of something or 100 doodles that they did or something. I think the 100 photos one are easier to commit but again, my camera is crap and I don't have anything interesting in my life to take photos of and worth blogging about hmm. No cute pets or cute kids or anything. My life is a bore, basically WHICH IS WHY I WANT TO DO THIS CHALLENGE.

In short, gaaaahhhhh I do want to do this but it takes too long and too much energy and most of the times I'm just too tired from work to do this (@____@).

I'm still doing it though ...
