Eunhyuk to be SJ's temporary leader??

On my translation : I haven't finished today as well (-____-). Hopefully it will be done today and I would be able to mail it out tomorrow. I was thinking today afternoon, but it's kind of impossible considering the many bubbles I've skipped and all the words I was not certain of the meaning. ANYWAY!!!

Today's issue would be : Eunhyuk to be SJ's temporary leader while Leeteuk is gone???? WHAT. I read this at omona (I know, smh for omona being my source of reality lately), I'm not sure how reliable/true this is, but it's from their Radio Star talk recently.

And although I am an Eunhyuk fan (or in KPop fandom language, Eunhyuk is my bias, whatever), I'm not sure how to digest this information. I have been wondering of whom to replace Leeteuk once he's taking his leave for the mandatory military service, and I did thought of Eunhyuk but ...

yeah.

I mean let's face it Leeteuk has been the leader of this group for like, 10 years now?? He is the oldest of the bunch and he is just great at being a leader; he's a workaholic, he's funny, he super articulate and talkative, he's professional, good at mc'ing, strategical, etc etc. Leeteuk has been postponing his military service forever, and he's finally going to do it later this year. I'm a new SJ fan, but now that I'm getting to know them all, it's really hard to imagine SJ without Leeteuk.

If we go by age, Yesung is next after Leeteuk (because Heechul is inactive), since I don't think he's that interesting or attractive, I don't really pay attention to him but ... he's like ... the least popular member of SJ, isn't he? Not that it matter that much I guess, but from his attitude on variety shows, I don't think he's leader material??? IDK man.

And then there's Kangin, who is great, I like listening to him talk, he seems to be very attentive, an observer kind of person. Which is good for a leader. He is also huge, lol. BUT, he has gone too long from the group, serving for the military for 2 years, missing all the events and promotion of their 4th and 5th album (Bonamana & Mr. Simple).

Next we got Shindong. I like him, I really do. He is a hardworker, he's funny, he's talkative & articulate, he's a great guy. I don't see why he doesn't fit the leader criteria. Maybe because they set him up for gags? I'm not sure what the connection is but yeah. Oh and probably they wouldn't assign him because he's the next in line to take his leave for the mandatory military service.

Moving on, we got Sungmin. Now Sungmin, I don't really like. Not hating or anything, I'm sure he's a great guy, I just don't find him interesting or attractive in any way. He's also not very vocal in talk shows so I'm assuming he's not leader material. I'm sure he's good at what he does, though.

Now Hyukjae, if he becomes the leader, I don't really get it. I mean he's crazy, talkative, kind of stupid, moves on impulse, no strategy what so ever. He's popular, which is good, and flexible, which is also good, but I don't really see him as a leader. This probably would change after he is given the responsibility, but I'm wondering how they'd handle it all. Korea, like Japan is very strict on seniority and if he becomes the leader, there'll be 4 people in the group that is older than him, his 'hyungs', and how would he handle that? I don't get Korean seniority though, like, Ryeowook is only months younger than Siwon but he is calling him hyung? And Kyuhyun is the youngest of the group and was born in later year than Ryeowook but he is not calling him hyung? I don't get it, and I hate it when I don't get it, I feel like I need to learn about Korean society and culture!!

There were talks that Siwon might be their temporary leader but the more I read, the more I don't get it. He's one of the youngest members of the group, why would you make him the leader? Because he has the longest experience in the entertainment industry? Because he is the most popular? What? Why? He's conservatively handsome and all, but IDK man, IDK.

Now as for Ryeowook and Kyuhyun, there is like 0% chance of them being the leader, they're maknaes (youngest member of the group)!! They're too young and cute, lol.
