Discovering Kokon To Zai (KTZ) through K-Pop

Cut to the chase, this is how I discovered KTZ :

KTZ is a London based designer label created by Koji Maruyama, Sasko Bezovski and Marjan Pejoski in the nineties. From the name, I thought it was a Japan based - Japanese brand at first. I love their designs. It's as they said, "Strikingly graphic, not just in the sense of print - our designs are also very graphic in shape. Definitely youthful!". Pieces worn individually could make a great statement for streetwear, and pieces worn as an ensemble make a strong avant-garde look. So much fun and so different (oh and Andrej modeled for them once!). Many of their pieces are so brave, perfect for artists who wants to show their edgy side (IDK I immediately thought of Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna) or ... of course for K-Pop stars.

Collecting Eunhyuk's pics for the mood theme, I encountered a lot of photos of him in this yellow hoodie, which suits him perfectly. Turns out, it's his stage outfit for 'Superman', and many other members also wear KTZ in different occasions during Mr. Simple era (and occasionally before and after that too, actually). First off, I LOVE the song Superman. Second off, even though there's no real MV (aside from the one made of concert footages), I do love their TV performance for the song!

Watch their performance on Music Core last year :

And here's their stage outfit :

It's really not hard to find out what the item's brand was, since there are blogs dedicated for K-Pop fashion. Plus, a lot of other SuJu/Eunhyuk enthusiasts seemed to be interested in that jacket. Many people want it (me included). Eunhyuk has worn them in other occasions as well :

The deeper you dig, the more you witness how this KTZ trend is really, really popular among K-Pop artists. Not only Suju, there are a good number of other artists seen in them. And this brand has a lot of stores in East Asia more than anywhere else, 4 stores in Hong Kong, 4 stores in Japan, and 3 in South Korea. Their pieces are just perfect for Korean artists; edgy, quirky, colorful pieces that border between super cool and tacky, lol. No seriously though, I love their pieces, I love their prints. Their stuff are expensive, but not crazy-high-end-designer piece expensive, just expensive enough for normal people not to buy lol.

And here I have to shamelessly admit that I have ordered a knock-off version of the jacket. Hopefully it doesn't look that bad of a knock off, there is no way I can afford the real one. I don't even know where to wear this to, I don't want ELFs to recognize the jacket on the streets, lol.
