{001} The Mystery Dress

The first inspiration is a dress by Mondo Guerra, created for the 'Nanette Lepore Challenge' on Project Runway All Stars. The series ended at the end of March, and of all the gorgeous dresses ever graced the runway, this one caught my attention.

Shape-wise, it's not particularly a stunning piece, but Mondo did a great job with his pattern mixing trademark. I love the color scheme, I love the pattern mix, it's such a fun, colorful little dress. And it sold out so fast at nanettelepore.com! I totally would buy one for myself if I'm not so poor and living on the other side of the world.

It was called the mystery dress because Nanette Lepore site couldn't reveal which dress/which designer won the challenge before the episode aired, so they only show a black silhouette of a dress.

Here's a little picspam of the dress that I compile :

Also there's a series of articles on marieclaire.com on a making of a dress with this dress as the example. I had no idea about dress making (especially in NYC) so this had been really informative. It also shows us more pretty pics of the dress!

Step 2 : Fit for a Lady
Step 3 : Good Grades
Step 4 : All Sewn Up
